Training Practice

Chiddingfold Surgery has been accredited as a training practice. This means that we have doctors known as GP registrars attached to the practice for at least 12 months.

GP registrars are fully qualified doctors who are training to become general practitioners, they all have considerable hospital experience. Our registrars are supervised by Dr Willett but they always have a partner available for advice if required.

Occasionally the registrar and Dr Willett will consult together, often this is a time when the registrar is being assessed.

The registrar may also conduct surgeries which are video recorded. Your written consent will always be asked for prior to recording. Recorded consultations will be watched only by the registrar and Dr Willett and are invaluable in the registrar’s education, development and assessment.

In order to maintain our training practice status we are regularly inspected by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deanery to ensure the highest standards are being upheld.

From time to time trainee medical students will be at the practice and patients may be asked for their permission for the student to be present at a consultation.
